Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Owners Quote ("Owners Quote," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit ownersquote.com (the "Site"), call one of the phone numbers shown on the Site, or submit a quote request. It also explains the choices you have about your information.
Owners Quote is a free service for homeowners in the United States. We connect you with independent, third-party home service providers ("partner providers") who can give you quotes. We are not a contractor, we do not perform any work, and we do not employ the partner providers. Each partner provider is a separate business with its own privacy practices. This policy covers only what Owners Quote does. Once a partner provider receives your information, its own privacy policy applies to how it handles that information.
You do not need an account to use the Site, and we do not offer homeowner accounts. This policy applies to everyone who uses the Site. Our Site is intended for adults in the United States and is not designed for use outside the United States.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you submit a quote request or contact form, we collect the information you type in. Depending on the form, this includes:
- Your first and last name, phone number, and email address (email is optional).
- Your five-digit ZIP code.
- The service you are interested in and your answers to a few service-specific questions (for example, the type of roof or the size of a remodel).
- Any free-text details you choose to add about your project.
- Your consent choice, the exact consent language you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed.
If you call us, we collect your phone number through caller ID and any information you share on the call. If you email us, we keep the email and our reply.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the Site or submit a form, we and the vendors that help run the Site automatically collect technical information, such as:
- Your IP address and general location inferred from it.
- Your browser type and version, operating system, device type, and language ("user agent").
- The page you arrived from (the referrer), the pages you view on the Site, the landing page, and the time of your visit.
- Campaign and advertising identifiers passed in the URL when you click an ad or link, such as
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_content,utm_term, Meta'sfbclid, and Google'sgclid. - Advertising cookie values set by Meta on your browser (
_fbpand_fbc) when the Meta Pixel is active. - When you tap a phone number on the Site, the fact that you tapped it, the service page you were on, and the technical information above. We use this to understand which pages lead to calls.
Section 5 describes the cookies and pixels that collect this information and how you can control them.
Information from partner providers and other sources
A partner provider may tell us whether it reached you, whether it gave you a quote, and whether you hired it. We use this to measure how well the service works and to manage our relationships with partner providers. We may also receive confirmation data from our email, phone, and advertising vendors (for example, that an email was delivered or that a form submission was attributed to a particular ad).
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Match and deliver your request. We send the details of your quote request to up to four partner providers that serve your ZIP code and handle your type of project so they can contact you and prepare a quote.
- Communicate with you. We send a confirmation of your request, respond to your questions, and may follow up about your request by phone, text, or email as described in Section 6.
- Operate and improve the Site. We use technical information to keep the Site working, fix problems, understand which pages are useful, and improve the experience.
- Measure and improve advertising. We use campaign identifiers, cookies, and pixels to understand which ads bring homeowners to the Site and to report conversions to the advertising platforms we use.
- Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse. We use IP addresses, timing, and form patterns to detect automated submissions and protect the Site and our partner providers.
- Document consent and comply with law. We keep a record of the consent language you agreed to, when you agreed, and the technical details of the submission so that we and our partner providers can demonstrate compliance with telemarketing and privacy laws.
- Manage our business. We use information for record keeping, accounting, resolving disputes, enforcing our Terms of Use, and protecting our rights.
We do not use your information to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we do not use it for any purpose that is unrelated to the ones listed here without telling you first.
6. Calls, Texts, and Emails
When you check the consent box and submit a quote request, you give Owners Quote and up to four of our partner providers your express written consent to contact you at the phone number and email address you provided about your request. The exact consent language is shown next to the checkbox on every form and is stored with your request. In plain terms, it means:
- We and the matched partner providers may call, text, and email you about your quote request, including marketing and informational messages related to it.
- Calls and texts may use automated technology such as autodialers, pre-recorded or artificial voice messages, and AI-powered voice assistants.
- You may be contacted even if your number is on a federal, state, or company Do Not Call list.
- Consent is not a condition of buying anything. You can still get quotes by calling us directly.
- Message and data rates from your carrier may apply to texts.
- Calls with Owners Quote, our call-tracking vendor, or partner providers may be recorded or monitored for quality, training, and compliance purposes. Where the law requires, you will be told at the start of a recorded call.
How to stop calls and texts
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect contacts that were lawful before you withdrew it, and it does not cancel your request unless you ask us to delete it.
- Texts: Reply STOP to any text message. Each business that texts you handles its own STOP requests, so if more than one provider texts you, reply STOP to each.
- Calls: Tell the caller you no longer wish to be contacted. Partner providers must honor that request under federal law.
- All contact from Owners Quote and our partner providers: Email hello@ownersquote.com with the subject line "Stop Contact" and the phone number you used, or call us at (818) 740-6785. We will stop contacting you and forward your request to every partner provider that received your information. Because partner providers are independent businesses, it may take a short time for them to update their records.
- Emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us as described above.
7. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
We offer the following choices to everyone, regardless of where you live. Depending on your state, some of these may also be legal rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, and similar laws.
- Access. Ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you and to give you a copy of it in a portable format.
- Correction. Ask us to fix inaccurate information, such as a mistyped phone number or ZIP code.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. We may keep limited records where the law allows or requires it, for example to document your consent, to honor a do-not-contact request, to detect fraud, or to complete a transaction you requested.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. Ask us not to share your information with partner providers or advertising platforms in the future. Because sharing with partner providers is the purpose of a quote request, opting out means we will not deliver future requests from you. It does not recall information already sent to a partner provider, but we will forward your opt-out to any provider that received it.
- Opt out of targeted advertising and profiling. Ask us not to use your information for advertising across other websites and apps. We do not profile you for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
- Withdraw contact consent. See Section 6.
- Appeal. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. Where your state law allows, you may also contact your state Attorney General.
How to exercise your rights
Visit our Your Privacy Choices page for step-by-step instructions, or email hello@ownersquote.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you would like us to do. Include the phone number (and, if you used one, the email address) you submitted with your request so we can find it. You can also call us at (818) 740-6785.
How we verify requests
Because we do not have homeowner accounts, we verify requests by matching the information you provide (such as name, phone number, email address, and ZIP code) against the request in our records. We may ask a follow-up question or send a confirmation text or email to the number or address on file. We will not ask for government identification or payment information. If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to fulfill access, correction, or deletion requests, but we will still honor requests to stop contact and to opt out of future sharing for the phone number and email you identify.
Authorized agents
You may have someone else submit a request on your behalf. We will ask the agent for written permission signed by you, and we may contact you directly to confirm the request before we act on it.
Timing
We will confirm that we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and may take up to 45 additional days where the law allows.
Non-discrimination
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights. Our service is free to homeowners in every case.
8. California Privacy Notice
This section applies to California residents and supplements the rest of this policy. It describes the categories of personal information we have collected, disclosed for a business purpose, and sold or shared in the 12 months before the effective date above. Our sources are you, your device and browser, our vendors, and our partner providers. Our purposes are the ones listed in Section 3.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require a "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" option.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. California residents can opt out of the sale and sharing of their personal information at any time by visiting our Your Privacy Choices page. We honor opt-out requests for at least 12 months before asking you to reauthorize any sale or sharing.
Shine the Light. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 lets California residents request, once a year, a list of the third parties to which we disclosed personal information for their own direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year, along with the categories of information disclosed. To make this request, email hello@ownersquote.com with the subject line "Shine the Light Request."
Retention. See Section 9 for how long we keep each category of information.
9. Data Retention
We keep quote requests, including your contact details, answers, and the consent record, in our database for as long as we need them to operate the service, document your consent, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Telemarketing rules generally require proof of consent to be kept for several years after the last contact, so we keep consent records for at least that long. Technical logs and attribution data are kept for shorter periods and are typically rolled up into statistics that no longer identify you.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so except for the limited records described in Section 7, such as a suppression record that lets us honor your do-not-contact request.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypting data in transit with HTTPS, restricting access to our database and admin tools to authorized personnel behind a password-protected, HTTPS-only admin login, rate-limiting on our forms and admin login and spam filtering on our forms, security headers that reduce common web attacks, and hashing personal details before sending them to advertising platforms.
No website or storage system can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed, disclosed, or altered improperly. If we learn of a security incident that affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and you must be at least 18 to submit a quote request. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, email hello@ownersquote.com and we will delete it.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to websites run by others, such as a partner provider's website, a social media platform, or a reference resource. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit, including those of the partner providers that contact you.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our service, vendors, or the law change. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will take additional steps to notify you where required, such as by email if we have your address. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
14. Contact Us
